GOT MILK? ADS: SUPERMODEL EDITION

The now-iconic Got Milk? Ads were launched in 1993 by the California Milk Processor Board to get consumers to drink their milk. By the following year, California’s milk sales increased for the first time in over a decade.

These ads were an instant hit with the media and consumers. They managed to take a basic item—milk—and make it cool. With its stark ads, iconic milk mustache, and witty scenarios of people caught without milk, it made dairy feel both essential and cool, cementing itself as one of the most memorable and parodied ad campaigns of the 1990s and 2000s. They retired the campaign in 2014, but we will always have the fun pop culture memories.
